Renowned for its shopping, bright lights and fabulous harbour, Hong Kong is currently at its best. The addition of Hong Kong Disneyland a few years ago, and its fabulous Disney themed hotels now makes it a fantastic holiday destination to take the kids.
Set on Lentau Island, the Disneyland Park is totally separate to the main hustle and bustle of Kowloon or Hong Kong Island. And there are two fabulous hotels connected to the Park, so you are only a few minutes away. Free shuttle buses run every 10 minutes between the Park and the resorts, so it’s easy to take a break or let the kids have a rest before going back to have dinner and take in the nightly firework spectacular.
Hong Kong Disneyland itself is fantastic. ‘Tomorrowland’ is one of the most popular – Space Mountain Rollercoaster and the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters are crowd favourites. Visit Tarzan’s Treehouse and brave the Jungle River Cruise in ‘Adventureland’. And then it’s onto ‘Fantasyland’ with Disney’s fairytale castle and the famous Mad Hatter Tea Cup ride. It’s a day of magic, rides, shows and entertainment that the whole family will love.
After Disneyland, spend a few days in Kowloon, the chance for your children to experience a ‘whole new world’ and for you to do a bit of shopping and sightseeing.
Other ‘must see & dos’ for the family are Ocean Park – a spectacular oceanarium with the largest marine theatre in the world. It is also an amusement park and offers a full range of hair raising, thrill seeker rides.
The Science Museum– three huge floors of amazing activities. It’s an educational ‘hands on’ experience which will keep the kids entertained for hours.
Victoria Peak – Journey to the top of Victoria Peak on an almost vertical tram ride. The panoramic view of Hong Kong at the top is amazing and there are cafes, shops and walks to enjoy.
